YAYASAN PETRONAS AND NCIA CELEBRATE THE ACHIEVEMENT OFempowerNCER PROGRAMME PARTICIPANTS

The ceremony was held to recognise and appreciate the efforts of 200 participants who have successfully completed the extensive skills and entrepreneurship course under the empowerNCER Programme funded by Yayasan PETRONAS in this district.

The 200 graduates are part of the 1,000 empowerNCER Programme participants sponsored by Yayasan PETRONAS in five districts in Kedah.
Officiated by Datuk Haji Awang Hashim, the Deputy Minister of Human Resources, the ceremony started off with a short motivational session to further empower the graduates. The programme graduates were also given the opportunity to showcase their business products such as souvenirs, bouquets, and variety of food items, and services.
Six outstanding participants also received a special award in recognition of the impactful achievements attained such as having improved their income level from B40 to T20 level and created job opportunities for the local community through their business venture.

empowerNCER Latihan Kemahiran & Keusahawanan participants undergo upskilling, reskilling and entrepreneurship training programmes to elevate their socio-economic status. Courses are designed based on the participant profile, mapped against opportunities for growth in their district.
Yayasan PETRONAS together with its strategic partner, the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) held its first graduation ceremony for the first batch of Yayasan PETRONAS empowerNCER Programme participants in Pendang, Kedah.

Meanwhile, academically under-performing SPM students from areas where many of the households live below the national median income level are roped in to join the empowerNCER Akademik.
