HUAWEI MALAYSIA, PROGRESSTURE SOLAR AND JJ-LAPP ENTER ATRIPARTITE PARTNERSHIP TO ADVANCE GREEN DIGITALTRANSITIONS IN MALAYSIA


Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Progressture Power Sdn Bhd (Progressture Solar) and JJ-LAPP (M) Sdn Bhd (JJ-LAPP) for the latter’s solar energy venture, in its quest to develop projects in renewable energy, green ICT infrastructure, energy savings and emission reductions to jointly accelerate the green digital transition in Malaysia.



The MoU will position Huawei and JJ-Lapp as the preferred partners for potential customers seeking a trustworthy, reliable, secure, and assured cleantech solutions, as well as setting Progressture Solar as a key service provider with a shared philosophy of helping both local and multinational companies transition to net-zero carbon emissions.


In the drive towards sustainable development goals in the country, the MoU will see the three parties utilise and share their combined capabilities within the renewable energy sector to deploy reliable green infrastructures and technology, reiterating their commitment and support to accelerate Malaysia’s progress towards carbon neutrality by 2050. The MoU is also aimed to provide a stronger ecosystem of new possibilities for renewable energy industry players.


Additionally, the strategic partnership between the three companies is set to become the go-to solution for digital energy transitions, specifically for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. 


With this collaboration, Progressture Solar will invest heavily in the ownership and development of clean energy assets, including solar PV systems for businesses, EV charging network solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and green data centre facilities.  JJ-LAPP will be the product partner for Progressture Solar, providing the delivery of green products and solutions to meet the needs of C&I clients.


Huawei Malaysia will bring its expertise as a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider to manufacture and equip the technical infrastructure for the tripartite venture. 

The MoU was signed by the co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Progressture Power Sdn Bhd, Mr Ng Yew Weng, General Manager of JJ-LAPP (M) Sdn Bhd, Mr Chang Chee Keong, and Vice President of Digital Power Business Group of Huawei Malaysia, Mr Chong Chern Peng. 


Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Progressture Solar, Mr Ng said, “We believe in meaningful partnerships that can harness the power of technology in addressing environmental challenges. “It has become the joint mission of JJ-LAPP, Huawei and Progressture Solar to ensure our collaboration delivers our solutions, technologies, products and services to the commercial, industrial and residential segments towards realizing the goal of carbon neutrality,” said Mr Chang.
