The 2nd Asia Smart Farming (Asf) 2024 Soft Launch At Picc
ABS Greentech Sdn Bhd is proud to announce the successful soft launch of the 2nd Asia Smart Farming (ASF) 2024 held today from 9 to 11 AM at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The event was inaugurated by Dato Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin, the Organizing Chairman of Smart Farming 2024. This soft launch served as a precursor to the upcoming 2nd Asia Smart Farming and Food Security Conference and Exhibition, scheduled for 25th-27th October 2024 at PICC.
Today’s event was attended by the members of the diplomatic corps, technocrats, agropreneurs, agricultural marketers, industry players, technologists, and enterprising young farmers.
This event highlighted the promotion of smart, pesticide-free farming practices that have the potential to transform agricultural methods, leading to high yields, sustainability, and safer consumption.
During the inaugural Smart Farming event held in 2023, ABS Greentech Sdn. Bhd. signed 11 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with various international industry players to finance projects in the smart agriculture sector. R M Ravichandar, the Chief Executive Officer of ABS Greentech Sdn Bhd, announced a funding commitment of RM550 million aimed at enhancing smart farming techniques and fostering food security in Malaysia.
In the upcoming ASF 2024, ABS Greentech is expecting to sign more MOUs with the international industry players to finance the new agricultural projects.
ASF 2024 will showcase advancements in smart farming using Integrated Pest Management, which is pesticide-free. ASF 2024 will provide a conducive platform for technologists, industry players, technocrats, and bankers to come together. This event will enable policymakers and industry players to conduct comparative analyses of Malaysia's agricultural technologies with those of neighbouring countries, within the framework of enhancing food security and aligning with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
In his welcoming remarks, Dato Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin, Advisory Board Chairman of ABS Greentech Sdn. Bhd. and Chairman of Asia Smart Farming & Food Security 2024 (ASF 2024), stated, “The soft launch today aims to reinforce our shared commitment to transforming the agricultural sector into modern and high-tech activities. This aligns with the National Agro-Food Policy 2021-2030 (NAP 2.0) introduced by the Government of Malaysia, which envisions a sustainable, resilient, and high-technology agro-food sector to drive economic growth, enhance the well-being of the people, and prioritize food and nutrition security.”
Dato Syed Munshe Afdzaruddin also encouraged today's audience to promote ASF 2024, urging industry players, technology providers, and relevant stakeholders within their local and international networks to join either as exhibitors or seminar participants. ABS Greentech, as the organizer, is confident that ASF 2024 will be an effective platform for stakeholders in the agricultural industry to exchange views and experiences and showcase new technologies and products in pursuit of high yield and safe food production.
