Watsons YES Program Fosters Collaborative Partnership with Universiti Malaya.
Watsons Malaysia is proud to announce the return of its Youth Empowerment & Sustainability (YES) Program 2.0, dedicated to empowering young people in championing sustainability and community well-being.
In partnership with Universiti Malaya, the program provides a platform for youth to take meaningful action in environmental and social sustainability under this year’s theme, “Youth Action for Sustainability and Planetary Health.” Now in its second year, the Watsons YES Program continues to inspire young leaders to create a positive impact for a healthier planet.
“This program aligns seamlessly with Watsons Malaysia’s commitment, as the No.1 health and beauty retailer, to fostering social responsibility and sustainability among our customers, members, and employees. Through the YES Program 2.0, we aim to inspire the younger generation to engage with environmental issues and take impactful actions that contribute to a healthier planet,” said Danny Hoh, Chief Operating Officer of Watsons Malaysia (and Sustainability Champion).
The program’s finale features six groups from Universiti Malaya, each presenting innovative project ideas to tackle critical environmental challenges such as waste reduction, energy conservation, water conservation, and biodiversity protection. To bring their proposals to life, the two winning teams will receive project grants supported by Watsons Malaysia and Unilever Malaysia.
Danny added, “This collaborative effort with Universiti Malaya also highlights the importance of partnerships with diverse stakeholders in generating innovative ideas that
enhance community well-being and sustainability. We’re proud to support the youth of Malaysia as they develop solutions for a healthier planet.
In addition to the student presentations, the event will feature the signing of an MOU between Watsons Malaysia and Universiti Malaya, underscoring the commitment of both
parties to sustainability and youth empowerment. Attendees can also explore the Health & Beauty booths to redeem goodies and receive complimentary health checks conducted by the Watsons' health experts.
